A Job that never Exist in my vocabulary 8 years ago!

I can’t still imagine my self being in the teaching profession for almost a year. I’ve been teaching for almost a year now but I don’t feel I’m teaching. I can’t still believe that my primary source of income is teaching. I’d never dreamed and thought to be a teacher when I was in high school, though my teacher always encourages me to be a teacher because I was one of the top students in the class that they can always depend on any time. I graduated as salutatorian that’s why they really encourage me to enroll Education and be a teacher because they believe that I can be an effective and efficient teacher in the future but I told them that I hate teaching and it’s not included in my vocabulary words. But things change!

Because my grades are quite high and I graduated salutatorian, the government granted a full scholarship in collage at the University of Baguio, Baguio City. But they gave me a condition which I didn’t expect. I can only enjoy or avail my full scholarship if and only if am going to enroll Education! Bad condition for me! When I heard about the condition they are asking, I was frustrated. It took me one month to decide before I accepted the offer. I accepted the offer because I don’t have any choice. My family is poor and they can’t afford to send me in a well known University to study. I grab the opportunity though it’s hard on my part because this is what my parents want me to do and don’t want to hurt and disappoint them. I don’t know if will works, I only know one thing on that time, my dreams where shuttered.

After five years, I finished the course. It took me five years to finish the course because of some distractions like financial problems and etc. And now, I can’t still believe I’m already a teacher and I’ve been in this profession for almost a year! The only happy ending is that I’m making some coins from teaching right now! What a job! Teaching is really the noblest profession but I don’t still love what I’m doing.
